Who We Are
Our Instructors

Carol S. Hyman
Senior Instructor
Carol brings to her teaching a simple goal: to help people learn to rest in the wakeful presence that is their basic nature and to recognize and release the habitual patterns that inhibit its free expression. Having practiced and taught mindfulness and other contemplative disciplines for more than four decades, she incorporates western and Buddhist psychological perspectives and techniques, grounded in recent neuroscientific support about the workability of our minds. Her book, Meeting Your Mind, offers practical guidance in how to begin our inner reconnaissance.

Matthew K. Robertson
Associate Instructor
Matt began a meditation practice in childhood, completing his first ten-day retreat at age thirteen with the Arica School of Knowledge — a tradition whose Integral Philosophy continues to inform his practice and instruction. Formally trained at Naropa University and co-faculty in Ubiquity University’s Applied Neuroscience program, he is an educator and certified Mindfulness Instructor with more than a decade of international experience serving individuals and organizations. At Applied Mindfulness Training, he brings both depth and precision to his guidance in open awareness and advanced visualization tecniques.
